We take a panoramic x-ray, two anterior periapical x-rays, and four bitewing x-rays for diagnostic & record purposes for new patient. When there is a need for additional x-rays due to pain or pathology, we’ll inform the patient. If there are many pre-existing restorations, then we require to take full mouth x-rays instead of routine x-rays.
If you are pregnant, we do not take x-rays unless there’s an urgent need due to pain after consulting your OB/GYN. It is highly recommended to continue regular checkup and cleaning; however any emergency dental procedures are postponed until at least the second trimester in pregnancy or after the delivery of the baby.
